Week 7 - Other ways I can promote myself in the Industry

There are many ways to promote work produced over the internet mainly using websites on the internet in which we can show of the work we have produced to get noticed by people all over the world and also attract game companies to what we have produced. There are many websites out there that artists can use to demonstrate there work and promote the work they have currently worked on. Using these website will help the artist get noticed more and give more ways for them to make sure that there work is seen.

Some website allow you to create your own website within them which you can use to show of all your work you have done. i will look at a few different websites that allow artists to demonstrate the work they have done and explain why it can be a good resource to use for artist work.

The first website I found is called webs. It is free to use and all you need is to sign up for it. It allows you to use easy website building tools to build your website the way you want and it gives you a number of professional template styles for your website to choose from. This is good because when showing of your work you want to make sure that the website looks professional to the company or person looking at it. It has a feature called site builder where you can just drag and drop stuff into the website making it easy to add items/images or videos to your website. The wide selecting of templates you can choose from also lets you fully customize to the way you want it and the style you want.

This website is called ucoz. This is a free website builder that allows you to build a website for free using the tools that it gives you to use. It has 1,000,000 active websites which means it must be okay to use. It allows you to select from 250 default templates which you can use for your website page. Thousands of widgets and gadgets which you may use for something on the website depending on what you are going for. It has unlimited disk space so you can put as much as you want on there and for a artist this is extremely useful to have.

This website offers you to create a free website when you have signed up. It allows you to access loads of features including different tools which you can use to change and make your website different. It gives you a number of website templates which you can work from and make your website look professional. It gives you the tools to make your work stand out on the website which is useful for artists.


You can also use social networking sites to promote your work by putting your website up on there for people to see and check out your work. Ask them to give you feedback and then you can work on the website from the feedback you have been given. I know that loads of people use Facebook and Twitter and it could be a good way to promote my work and my portfolio. Another site I know called Bebo but I don't think many people use this site anymore and have gone to Facebook.
